Introducing the
Stamford Catholic Schools
Friends and Family Program
Most new student families to our Stamford Catholic Schools come to us upon the recommendation of one or more of our parents whose child is currently enrolled or recently graduated from one of our schools. We recognize that our parents are our strongest advocates in identifying new students and families that will benefit joining our schools’ learning community. This year, we proudly launch the…….
Stamford Catholic Schools Friends and Family Program
Here’s how the program works:
For each new family referred to St. Cecilia, Holy Spirit, Our Lady Star of the Sea, or Trinity Catholic Middle School, a currently enrolled family will receive a $500 tuition credit upon completion of the new family’s first year in school.
The new family must identify one family on their application. The program is only offered on a one to one basis meaning only one currently enrolled family can receive credit.
Currently enrolled families can refer as many new families as they’d like – and receive multiple $500 credits – but the total cannot exceed their annual tuition.
It’s easy and it’s a great way for us to build the Stamford Catholic School community!

On Wednesday, September 2, 2009, Dr. Joann Borchetta, principal of St. Cecilia School, 1186 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut received notification from the US Commerce Association that the school has received the organization’s
“Best of Stamford 2009” award.
The USCA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
The St. Cecilia family is very grateful for this recognition of their efforts to promote awareness of St. Cecilia School and its mission to foster the growth of lifelong learners who strive for academic excellence within a loving, Christian community.

The NCEA Convention in Anaheim was a great success.
This is a chance for NCEA to recognize and thank teachers, principals, pastors and home and school associations who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to Catholic education.
This year’s awardees were extremely impressive and truly deserving. It is indeed heartening to know that during these difficult times, there are amazing things happening in schools and parishes throughout the country.
The Elementary Department recognizes national awardees at convention.
A Co-Educational Day School
from Pre-K through Grade Five
St. Cecilia Elementary School has combined challenging academics with a strong sense of community and commitment to our faith since it was founded in 1955.

Our core values call those of us at St. Cecilia today to remember that education is about both the individual student as well as the school community. We seek to nurture the curiosity, and creativity, and love of learning of each of our students and at the same time, we work to build a close school society whose members are committed to the timeless and sustaining principles of integrity, mutual respect, empathy, compassion, service and faith in God. St. Cecilia is therefore committed simultaneously to the “whole child” and the “whole community” and is concerned first and foremost with cultivating young people of good character and strong values seeking to lead lives of honesty, kindness, meaning, and contribution. This inspiring goal, combined with bright and engaging students, talented and dedicated faculty and staff, and caring and supportive parents, are powerful forces that in turn create outstanding Catholic schooling that challenges us, nurtures us, and humbles us.
We truly believe our children are our investment in the future.
The St. Cecilia experience is an active partnership among parents, students, and faculty. The faculty and administration strive to be positive role models and are dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and nurturing students in the pursuit of excellence. By the example of enthusiastic teaching and their own continual professional development, our faculty models the importance and pleasure of lifelong intellectual and creative growth. More than 90% of our faculty have Master’s degrees and beyond, state teaching certifications and all have a commitment to life-long learning. The faculty average 17 years of teaching experience, and classes with favorable student/teacher ratios ensure personal student attention.
